Nursing Survey: Expectations vs Realities in Nursing

Back when BestNursingDegree.com first launched, we conducted a survey of current nurses, in order to determine what the field of nursing is really like. We asked respondents about their level of education, work setting and how well nursing school prepared them for the profession.

Your answers helped us design a website filled with nursing education information and options to help you succeed.

We wanted to know the experiences of real nurses out on the clinic floor providing direct patient care every day…the ups and downs, what it’s like to work with other health professionals, and most of all, the kind of things nurses learn on the job that no amount of formal training can prepare you for.

When the results of our Nursing Realities vs Expectations survey came in, we used the highlights from all the amazing stories and first-hand accounts we received from dozens of nurses around the country to create a New Nurse Survival Guide complete with everything any new or aspiring nurse would need to survive and thrive in the field – from job descriptions and salary expectations to video interviews and real accounts of life on the clinic floor.
